SURGIFOAM® is a sterile, water-insoluble, malleable, porcine gelatin absorbable sponge intended for hemostatic use during dental procedures. SURGIFOAM® can be applied dry or saturated with sterile sodium chloride solution, and is indicated for surgical procedures (nonophthalmic) for hemostasis, when control of capillary, venous and arteriolar bleeding by pressure, ligature and other conventional procedures is ineffective or impractical. It can also be used with thrombin to help stop bleeding.
